BOOST was developed using the UK Medical Research Council (MRC) Complex Intervention Development Framework. To develop a programme like BOOST, the MRC recommends that researchers gather all existing research evidence in this area. You then ask experts and patients for their views on the evidence.
The information on this website is based on medical research from universities, hospitals and charities around the world. It also draws on real life experiences of people with IBD experiencing pain, fatigue and urgency.
There is no ‘one size fits all’ for treatment of IBD symptoms. However, good evidence, in both IBD and other long-term conditions, says that making small changes to your lifestyle and the way you do activities may help you manage your symptoms better.
The research does not end there though - we want to keep making BOOST better. You can help by providing feedback to us via the Contact Us tab at the bottom of the page once you have logged in.
